Last month, we had the incredible privilege of welcoming The New York Time to the farm. They joined us for our annual wassail, experiencing first-hand the rich traditions of the West Country.  It was an honour to share this special event with them, and now you can read all about it. In January we celebrated our annual Wassail, and what an incredible experience it was! With roaring fires, the echo of gunfire, and the joy of singing and dancing, the evening was alive with tradition and community spirit.

A huge thank you to everyone who came to our annual Wassail. This event couldn't happen without the dedication of Beth our events co-Ordinator, Mike the caller and the Taunton Morris Men, who brought their energy and tradition to the night.

Another large thank you to the Fresh Aire folk band, who kept the dancing and merriment going strong into the night.  (please ask for details to hire the band for private functions)

If you’ve never attended a Wassail before, it’s a must-see! For those unfamiliar, a Wassail is a centuries-old West Country tradition, rooted in West Country history, this tradition has been cherished for hundreds of years. Designed to bless the apple trees and ensure a bountiful harvest in the coming year. It combines music, rituals, and merriment, with participants often drinking from the Wassail bowl and offering toasts to the orchard. It’s a unique and vibrant way to connect with history and nature.

If you missed it this time, make sure to mark your calendar and join us next year on the last Friday of January — it’s an event you won’t want to miss! It’s an experience you won’t forget!

If you took any photos, please send them to events@sheppyscider.com - we'd love to see all your evenings.

Cheers to another great year ahead and a bountiful harvest.
