Booked the cider tour with the ploughman’s add on for lunch. We had and absolutely amazing few hours at Sheppys! Arrived an hour early to have a wander around the shop first. Everything was set up so well. Looked amazing and traditional and the place was spotlessly clean.
The staff in the shop were fantastic and friendly. One young girl who was quite new couldn’t do enough to help us. She was lovely. Had some time to kill so had a coffee in the cafe. Service, coffee and staff were all fantastic. Then the tour.
All I can say is WOW. Wendy was our guide and she was so friendly and passionate and engaging and funny. Absolute credit to you. Loved the tour itself and learned so many things about Sheppys and the whole cider making process. Fabulous to hear how much they do to conserve the environment, minimise water wastage and protect flora and fauna. Loved looking around the different orchards and the different cider making rooms. Finished off with a brilliant cider tasting where Wendy continued to impart all her fabulous knowledge and keep everyone entertained. Perfect.
Then on to the restaurant for the pre booked ploughman’s. Straight in and served promptly and efficiently. All staff were lovely and the food was outstanding. Really made our day wonderful. Then of course we had to buy half the shop as there were so many nice things. All the delicious ciders and so many different locally made/sourced products. Delicious cakes, breads and exquisite cheeses. All so reasonably priced too which is a refreshing change.
Well done Sheppys on all counts. Highly recommend a visit and tour.
